A Schengen visa is an entry permit for nonEU nationals to make a short temporary visit of up to 90 days in any 180day period to one or several countries in the Schengen area. Chinese citizens planning to take short travels to countries in the Schengen Area for business tourism visiting family and friends or other purposes are advised to learn about each step of the process prior to submitting an application.

Chinese citizens travelling to one country within the Schengen Area should submit an application at the visa application center of that country. If the trip involves multiple countries the application must be submitted at the visa application center of the main destination where the applicant will spend the longest time during the trip. After submitting the application at the appropriate visa application center applicants should stay available by email or phone in case additional details are needed. Once the visa is ready applicants will receive an invitation to pick up their passport at the application center or choose to have it shipped to their address.
